MP for Coventry South, Jim Cunningham, has congratulated a local weight management Consultant for her work in successfully helping many Coventry residents lose weight and live healthier, happier lives.
Local Cambridge Weight Plan Consultant, Natalie Haley, met with Mr Cunningham to outline the benefits of Cambridge Weight Plan for overweight and obese people across Coventry. Cambridge Weight Plan is a weight management programme comprised of several steps, including weight loss, weight stabilisation and long-term weight maintenance. Thanks largely to the one-to-one support provided by Consultants like Natalie, many local people have been able to not only lose weight but maintain that weight loss. This is a particularly important achievement for Coventry, as over 56% of the local adult population are overweight or obese – more than one in two of us.
Jim Cunningham MP said:
“I was very impressed with Natalie’s work here in Coventry to help individuals lose weight and, crucially, keep that weight off. As with other parts of the country, obesity is a significant problem here in Coventry: Natalie’s efforts will not only give local people a healthier future but will help to secure the health of our local NHS. Her accomplishments are clear in the many people she has helped, both to lose weight and maintain a stable, healthy weight. I applaud Natalie’s success, which has and will continue to do much for the health of the local population across Coventry.”
Natalie Haley said
“Obesity is a complex, difficult illness with many underlying causes and it can have a terrible effect on those who suffer from it, as well as their families. As a Cambridge Consultant, I help people to better understand why they have gained weight – which is rarely down to overeating alone. I give crucial support to people to help them develop healthier diets and exercise more. This means they are less likely to return to the bad habits that caused their weight gain in first place and this, in turn, helps them live happier, healthier lives. I am delighted to have helped many people in Coventry change their lives in this positive way, and I look forward to helping many more.”
